Walter Reed FReeps to Support Our Troops and Oppose Code Pink Hate Group
FReepers from DC Chapter of Free Republic (FR) and beyond, joined by allies including Protest Warriors, Rolling Thunder, and Gathering of Eagles, have been outside the gates of Walter Reed to support our troops on a regular basis since March of 2005. This will provide some background for that.
(Clicking on a link on this page will open in a new window. For various web pages, I'll link to archived copies in case the original is eventually deleted or modified as Code Pink has done when caught previously publishing self-discrediting venom against our military.)
Check back, this will be updated with photos.
Code Pink Hates U.S. Troops
The FReepers have countered the anti-troop hate group Code Pink and allies at a weekly obscene anti-war blood dance they perform outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Although vile Code Pinkos and allied America-hating leftists have a right to oppose military action in Afghanistan and Iraq as they did and do, it is despicable to take their vicious psychological warfare against our military to just outside a hospital. Indeed, their own web site included an article (archived web page here and current page here) from an injured anti-war Vietnam veteran saying that :
Rule 3: forget your moral questions about the war. Morality is for those who support the war and for those who oppose the war, not for those in the war. Those seriously wounded are still fighting the war so clam up about the immorality of this stupid war.A corollary to this rule is never protest against a war in front of a military facility, especially a military hospital. That is a no-brainer. You demonstrate against those who made the policy to go to war, not against those who are sworn to carry out the order to go to war. [emphasis added]
As U.S. troops wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq try to heal at Walter Reed (WR), and in spite of venomous Code Pink's own web site saying that it is wrong to do what they're doing, Code Pink has been waging a disgusting psych-op against hospital patients.
Evil Pinkos held signs saying "Maimed for a Lie" to taunt heroes who've lost limbs defending the freedom of all Americans, regardless of their politics. Another Pinko sign was "Enlist Here to Die for Halliburton," as if the hospital were a place to enlist.
The twisted Pinkos called our troops terrorists right there at the WR main gate per this thread and the video linked thereon.
The hate group calls our troops "killers" per the cruel Code Pinko web site anti-military recruiting slogan "Mothers don't let your children grow up to be killers." (Archived web page is here and current version here.)
The anti-troop hate group Pinkos have endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here).
The troop-hating Pinkos have given money to the other side in Fallujah, Iraq and then bragged about it.
Beginning and a Brief History
On March 15, 2004, there was a preliminary skirmish, more than a year before the regular dueling protests between FReepers and Pinkos started. The leftists, including many Pinkos, protested at Walter Reed as they traveled in a mock funeral procession with phony coffins from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware to Walter Reed Army Medical Center to the White House. Doctor Raoul solo FReeped Chief Code Pinko Medea Benjamin and her allies at Dover AFB, whereas other DC Chapter members FReeped the leftists at Walter Reed and at the White House as discussed in this thread: After-Action: DC Chapter FReeps Left for Exploiting War Dead and Wounded (March 15, 2004) including a direct FReep of Chief Pinko Medea Benjamin near the White House.
More than a year after that skirmish at Walter Reed, the leftists returned to Walter Reed for a week straight in late March of 2005. We FReeped them on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 per the following link LIVE ACTION REPORT: Code Pink's Gail Murphy sends thugs into peaceful DC Chapter counterprotest.
Then the heartless Pinkos decided to try their sick psych-op against our war-wounded heroes every Friday at Walter Reed. When we found out, we started counter-protesting them every Friday beginning on April 15, 2005. FReepers have been at Walter Reed peacefully counter-protesting the Pinkos every Friday since then, except that we missed one Friday in May 2005 due to exigent circumstances.
After the first few weeks of the dueling Friday night demonstrations of support for the troops by us vs. support for the terrorists or insurgents by the leftists, we had the two corners opposite the main gate and the Pinkos had the two corners of the main gate. After the traitorous Code Pinkos forgot to renew their permit for the two corners at the main gate, concretebob (his FR screen name, also a member of Protest Warriors) got a permit for those two corners, leading to January 20, 2006: Code Pink Retreats from Walter Reed-Freepers Win! (Week 40 Report at #1352).
FReepers have held the high ground, all four corners outside the main gate ever since. The Pinkos are a block away, out of sight of most of the troops and family members coming and going to Walter Reed.

An Invitation
How about you coming out to support the wounded heroes at WR? Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future. Don't be a spirit, a ghost, a phantom. Show up in person and introduce yourself. You'll be glad that you did.
Numerous of our troops have joined us. Countless more have thanked us for being there.
I'll quote from a FReep mail about our WR FReeps that I received and first put in a WR report in Sept of 2005, with permission and with the sender's name removed:
Bill,Will you come out this Friday night to help cover the backs of our brave troops against the cruel psyche-ops of treacherous Code Pink and their allies? Will you help our troops become "profoundly rejuvenated?"
Keep up the *outstanding* work. I am a service member who has seen combat in Iraq and have more than a few buddies that have been injured over there. ***I cannot stress the importance of the role you are playing in the states.*** The war stateside, in the public view and in the headlines will ultimately decide our country's fate. As for morale...we get angry overseas about hearing ppl whine about the war, but when we hear these stories we are profoundly rejuvenated. I commend you for your service and bringing the fight to the enemy!!
Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Fridays, 6:30 to 9:30 pm Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW, Washington, DC
On street parking is usually easy to find. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail (private message via the FR web site) tgslTakoma (FR screen name) and me (BillF on FR), preferably with your cell phone number as far in advance as possible. If you wait until Friday afternoon, it may be too late to coordinate a Metro ride.
